Center Based Support Staff:

Part Time 20 hour a week position.

6AM to 10AM Monday through Friday

At Laugh & Learn Academy our belief is that early learning is the foundation for our students' future success. We realize that fun, play, and laughter in growth and development creates lifelong learners. The ideal candidate will have the same approach and values to childcare. 

Applicants will be responsible for assisting in multiple classrooms throughout the day. Filling positions when needed. Providing support to individual children when needed.  The right applicant will encourage fun, play and laughter in the growth and development of the young children in our community. They will be flexible and be comfortable jumping in the help wherever needed. 

We realize the importance of fun, play, laughter, growth and development in both our daycare children and staff! We encourage our team to further their education, involve themselves in personal and professional development and welcome new ideas.

 

• Ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

• 
  Be at least 18 years old (Must be at least 16)

• 
  Basic understanding of technology (computers, tablets)

• 
  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• 
  The ability to foster and grow relationships with students

• 
  Must be flexible and a team player

• 
  Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, or currently enrolled in high school

• 
  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• 
  Developing caring and responsive relationships with the children in our care.

• 
  Answering parents questions appropriately and respectfully

• 
  Substitute teaching in classrooms

• 
  Helping children to learn and grow

• 
  Providing appropriate positive guidance to children

• 
  Helping children with toileting needs when necessary

• 
  Follow all rules and regulations in the Maine State Licensing Rule

• 
  Helping with general clean up of daycare spaces

• 
  Helping in the kitchen when needed. 

• Providing any other assistance for the childcare to run smoothly

Any full or part time staff will be required to be fingerprinted, pass a background check, become CPR and First Aid certified, provide proof of vaccinations and will be required to participate in ongoing training each year.
